SimCorp's very special corporate seminar 2001 took place in Sweden. It was my first real contact with the SimCorp's headquarter in Denmark. Read about how we made movies, and how we developed the new corporate visions.
SimCorp's corporate seminar 2001 took place in Malmoe/Sweden. It is organised every two years to work out the new corporate vision and to bring the 560 employees from all the different subsidiaries and departments together.

At this time I have been part of the software development unit in Switzerland. It was my first contact with SimCorp Denmark. Apart from the usual seminars and lectures the most important thing to me was to realize how big the company was and how many employees with different education and locations were working together on the same thing. I met a lot of interesting people from different departments and countries.

The way the entire event was set up was very impressive. Everything was full of action and happened very smoothly. At first SimCorp rented an entire luna park where we were also offered a typical Swedish buffet for dinner. After that SimCorp hired the film crew of the movie Dancer in the Dark to teach us some techniques and to guide us through the entire process of making a movie. All the necessary equipment like cameras, costumes, helicopter (no joke), horses, etc. was ready to be used - and so we did. The result was 27 short movies from different genres and styles. Nine of them were nominated for the movie award at an excellent gala dinner. Our movie won the price for the best soundtrack :-)

All in all the entire event was a great success. Even though not all of the new propagated guidlines like going for growth and gaining momentum could be followed - I mean it wasn't easy keeping in mind what happened on the market in 2001...
