Motorbikes

The smell of motor oil. The sound of motors. That's fun to me.
I have always had the need for speed. Apart from all the more practical advantages a motorbike gives you - transportation without traffic jam and parking problems - the most outstanding reason for having a motorbike is the immense fun riding one.

ImageI started relatively early being interested in motorbikes. With 13 years I bought my first secondhand moped - and tuned it to its limits (what I also was fined for some weeks after...). Now that I can ride some bigger bikes - but still not the ones I like - tuning is almost not anymore an issue. The bikes have enough power when you buy them.

I am heading for a Ducati Superbike 998R. This bike was actually made for me - I think. But there's still a looong long way to go. I just bought an old secondhand Aprilia RS125 Replica - you see?

And for the time being it performs well enough. Maybe some adjustments here and some fixes there - but all in all I am quite happy with it. I just have to imagine this nice Ducati sound when I am riding the little Aprilia - for the time being :-)

In the following lines you can see my biker CV:

  • 1989-1991 - Piaggio - Ciao (bought from somebodys grandma')
  • 1990-1991 - Velosolex - Solex 3800 (black, built in 1968, cool)
  • 1991-1992 - Sachs - Unknown Model (2 gears, very very old and rusty)
  • 1992-1992 - Piaggio - Ciao (60ccm, Proma, 96db)
  • 1992-1993 - Piaggio - Ciao (80ccm, Gianelli Record, 120km/h, scary)
  • 1997-2000 - Piaggio - Vespa 125 (stylish)
  • 2001-2003 - Aprilia RS125 Replica
