SlideNav 1.8 is a small Java applet for viewing GIF and JPEG images. The pictures to be shown have to be listed in a text file. A small, resizeable, animated navigation bar with thumbnails provides direct access to the images in the image list. The active image - shown underneath the navigation bar in the viewer area of the applet - can be zoomed in and out and moved around with the mouse or by keyboard.

What you see here is only a screenshot. To see the applet in action see the gallery section of this web site, or download it and open the example page. Version 1.8 is a major rewrite of the entire applet, which allowed me to add nice features like pop-up viewer for bigger pictures, and a generally better look and feel.

The reason I wrote SlideNav was that I have had to find a space saving way to present loads of pictures on a web site. I have found lots of applets for picture galleries, but none of them really had fit my needs.

The program is freeware presuming you send me a bug report if you find any. If you have any suggestions for improvement, please do not hesitate to contact me either.
